Turkish Inspired Pizza

Featuring: 4S Maple Lane Farm Lamb

1 store bought pizza dough

Flour for dusting 

2 tbsp olive oil 

1 lb 4S Maple Lane Farm Ground Lamb 

1 small onion, diced 

2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 

1 tsp ground cinnamon 

2 tsp ground cumin 

1 tbsp tomato paste 

2 green chilies, thinly sliced 

1 egg 

3 tbsp Greek yogurt 

1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice 

Handful of fresh dill, roughly chopped 

  • Place a 9 inch cast iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 450°F 

  • Working on a floured work surface, stretch dough into 9 inch circle and place on a floured sheet pan, cover with a damp kitchen towel and set aside. 

  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground lamb and, using a wooden spoon, break a part. Once lamb is cooked and no longer pink, add onion, garlic, cinnamon, cumin, tomato paste and chilies. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until onions have softened. Season with salt and pepper. 

  • Carefully remove cast iron skillet from the oven and generously top with the lamb mixture, and crack the egg on to the middle of the pizza. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until dough is golden and cooked through. 

  • Combine the yogurt and lemon juice and drizzle over top of the pizza along with a sprinkling of fresh dill. Serve immediately.
