Strawberry Bourbon Lemonade

Featuring: Linton’s Strawberries

1 cup white sugar 

5 cups cold water, divided

1 pint Linton’s strawberries, hulled 

Juice of 4 large lemons 

1 oz bourbon 

Lemon wheels, strawberries and basil or mint sprigs for garnishing 


● To make simple syrup, combine sugar and 1 cup of water in a small sauce pot over high heat and cook until sugar dissolves, then remove pot from heat and cool syrupcompletely. 

● Meanwhile, place strawberries in a large pitcher and purée with an immersion blender until smooth, then stir in lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and remaining 4 cups cold water and set in refrigerator to chill.

● To a cocktail class filled with ice, add bourbon, top with chilled strawberry lemonade, garnish with lemon wheel, strawberry and basil or mint sprig and serve immediately. 


Makes 1 cocktail (plus extra strawberry lemonade)
